This feature turns it into a very dynamic sound generator. In Tone mode the module is a 2 operator FM synth voice with a carrier that is modulated by a modulator. There is a second mode that plays back a mix of the internal drum sounds, in this case you can only set the level/mix and global pitch of the 5 drum sounds.
