The SM1CP2M is an end cap with external SM1 threading and a knurled lip, while the SM1PL is a plug (no lip) with external SM1 threading. The SM1PL plug can be threaded into an SM1 lens tube using anSPW801 orSPW909 spanner wrench, both of which will fit into the two shallow holes located 10 mm from the center.
