L R H Chapman's English Grammar Exercise Books are a series of books published in 1967 targeting the learners of English language as beginners. The series starts with very basic grammar structures and with some easy exercises. Even a beginner can easily understand the lessons to learn by themselves without any instructors assistance. The difficulty of the exercises gradually increases and the last book - Book 4 is a revision of all the lessons taught in the first three books. Once you master all three books you may complete the last book without any problem. On the last few pages of Book 3 you may find a list of irregular verbs with their stems, past tenses and the past participles which will be a great help to improve your vocabulary as well your comprehension.
